Tacrolimus is a fermentation product isolated from the genus Streptomyces, and is a macrolide antibiotic. As a novel potent immunosuppressive agent, it is mainly used to prevent rejection reactions after solid organ or bone marrow transplantation, or to treat autoimmune diseases.
